25 Counties Over 50 Cases Per 10k Threshold In Latest Report

Minnesota is continuing to see growth in positive COVID-19 cases and the latest 14-day COVID-19 case rate by county is helping to illustrate that growth. In the latest report from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), it shows that the counties over the 50 cases per 10,000 resident threshold that can determine schools going 100% distance learning grew from 19 to 25 counties. A majority of the counties that are over the 50 case threshold are located in rural outstate Minnesota.

The report which is put together from the MDH illustrates the growth of positive COVID-19 cases per county as now two Minnesota counties are averaging over 100 cases per 10,000 residents in Chippewa and Rock Counties with averages of 111.57 and 120.05 respectively.

When it comes to a decrease in case average Waseca County continues to show it's rebounding from cases in the Federal Prison as Waseca Counties case average fell from 69.65 to 36.68 week to week according to the report. Other counties seeing a decrease in their 14-day county average were Dodge, Fillmore, and Houston Counties.
