The Albert Lea Police Department are investigating after a shooting was reported Saturday afternoon. The victim was taken to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea, and then later to Rochester with gunshot wounds. 

According to the Albert Lea Police Departments release, the shooting occurred on the 1200 block of Gene Ave in Albert Lea at around 3:41 in the afternoon.

The victim, a 21-year-old male suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting. The suspects "fled in a vehicle prior to officers arriving on the scene," according to the media release.

Police believe that the victim knew the suspects. It is unclear as to how many suspects were involved in the shooting. Police in Albert Lea, believe this to be "an isolated incident" and that "there is no ongoing threat to public safety."
