Another Minnesota State Patrol Car Hit; Eleventh One This Month
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting yet another wreck involving one of its cruisers, the eleventh one this month.
State Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson says a trooper was assisting another vehicle along Highway 14 in Dodge County around 8:30 PM Tuesday when his cruiser was hit by a car driven by 30-year-old Isaac Olson of Dodge Center. Christianson says Olson was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Christianson says Trooper Kurt Knutsen of Rochester was inside his vehicle when it was hit. He sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
Meanwhile, at least two more MnDOT snowplows were involved in wrecks Tuesday. One happened on Highway 14 near Byron. MnDOT says ten of its plows have been struck in SE Minnesota so far this year. At last report, there have been 40 wrecks involving MnDOT plows this year.
