Apparent Murder-Suicide Takes The Life Of A Chamber Friend To Many

According to the Faribault Police report, shortly after noon Friday they were called to the Faribault Chamber Office, has someone, not a chamber employee had discovered two bodies on the floor behind the counter.

Police found a gun on the scene and determined that there was no danger to the public. The dead were identified as Former Faribault Police Captain Richard 'Dick' Larson and his ex-wife Barb Larson.

The initial investigation indicates that Richard Larson, shot his ex-wife and then turned the gun on himself. Barb Larson had recently filed a restraining order for harassment on her former husband. Richard Larson retired from the Faribault Police Department 8 years ago.

Barb appeared on AM Minnesota on Dec. 15th to talk about what's happening at the chamber. She had shared with us off the air what exciting things she was planning to do in 2017. She seemed very upbeat and looking forward to the holidays. She will be missed by many.
