Today is National Chocolate Day and as someone who literally lives for chocolate, I wanted to share about the best places to buy chocolate in Minnesota! This includes stores in Minnesota that make their own chocolate, and best places for the most delicious chocolate treats, which are in no particular order.

Abdallah Candies (3501 County Road 42 W. Burnsville)

Since I grew up in the Twin Cities area I have grown up knowing about Abdallah, but I did not know just how famous they really were within Minnesota. The family-owned company for five generations has so many selections to choose from it is just overwhelming. Their locally made chocolate is just awesome, and I recommend getting their bag of Chocolate Fudge Double Dark, Dark Choc goodies if you crave chocolate!

St. Croix Chocolate Co. (11 Judd St., Marine on St. Croix)

I have also heard of this place growing up and now I know why! According to an article from twincities.com, “High-quality chocolate from Belgium, Switzerland and Venezuela is combined with organic cream and butter from Crystal Ball Dairy in Osceola, Wis.” Not only this but they are also known for there creations made out of chocolate which have my jaw on the floor! Oh, and did I mention they also sell wine?

Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store (20430 Johnson Memorial Drive, Jordan)

You seriously can’t live in Minnesota without visiting Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store at least once. Even though this store is in Jordan MN, my friends and I would still drive the 45-50 minutes to visit this place because of the different kinds of candy, but the space is just absolutely amazing. They have the whole back area painted and decked out in a superhero theme and have an assortment of candy from around the world. But my favorite is the homemade products, and I absolutely die for their chocolate-covered Oreos. Also, there’s this chocolate brand that sells chocolates named after moods, and I love the one called ‘Tired’ which is a dark chocolate espresso bar!

Chocolat Celeste (652 Transfer Road, Suite 16A, St. Paul)

If you want beautiful works of art that are chocolates you can eat, well then head on over to Chocolat Celeste! Their Bonbons are pretty and also delicious. As explained by twincities.com, “Mary Leonard combines fine Belgian chocolate with local Hope butter and Pride of Main Street cream to create indulgent, creative flavors.” Like how can you go wrong with that!

Legacy Chocolates (141 E. Fourth St., St. Paul)

As noted on their website, they “make fresh, from scratch chocolate truffles, barks, sauces, drinks, and other baked goods in [their] kitchen each day. All of [their] products are carefully handmade, and do not use any preservatives or corn syrup.” I mean not only are they nutritious but they are delicious. I would not be surprised if you were to say “oh I know of Legacy Chocolates” because they are that good! not only this but they sell coffee too and cater to weddings!

Costas (112 N Cedar Ave, Owatonna)

Okay, you know I had to include Costas here! Not only are they our local candy store, but they are just delicious! I mainly go for chocolates because duh, but I did have one of their caramel apples this year, and oh my goodness was that delicious (the caramel was so amazing)! With their exquisite hand-rolled chocolate candies you just can’t go wrong, especially with my favorite, the dark chocolate sea salt caramels!

Hope you enjoyed and I hope you can soon visit all of these places! For more inspiration, visit these articles from twincities.com, yelp.com, and cbsnews.com. this post was inspired by places on these articles.
