July 20th he was driving his lawn mower down a street in Madison Lake in Blue Earth County. And he was apparently not happy that a police car was following. So he stopped the lawn mower to talk to the officer.

Thomas Grothe, 60, has a history of drunken driving convictions was in trouble again because he was driving his lawn tractor on a street with a 0.283 on his blood-alcohol test. That's more than three times the legal limit.

The officer said he was driving in an erratic manner on the wrong side of the road. Grothe said he was mowing around a storage facility, was running low on gas, he went and got gas and was on his way back to his property when he was stopped.

His lawnmower has been impounded. Grothe's license shows on his record as canceled due to public safety concerns as of his arrest.
