On Tuesday the city of Minneapolis will be doing a groundbreaking ceremony to start construction of a new rapid bus transit, called the C Line, running primarily on Penn Avenue and Olson Memorial Highway.

This rapid bus transit will be be like the A Line in St. Paul, which runs between the Rosedale Mall and the 46th Avenue Blue Line station in Minneapolis. According to Metro Transit, the rapid bus transits bring "better amenities, faster service and a more comfortable ride."

Construction will be between Brooklyn Center and downtown Minneapolis. Areas of Penn Avenue will also be reconstructed. They are expecting the project to be completed late spring of 2019. Construction is officially starting once the ground thaws this spring and will continue through the summer and fall. Then once the ground thaws after next winter, they are hoping to be able to complete the project that spring. But I suppose it depends on how bad of a winter we have... let's not think about that, the weather is just starting to warm up!
