The Owatonna Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will hold a special Business After Hours event on Tuesday, July 23. Two downtown Owatonna businesses are celebrating 100 years in operation. The chamber's Tuesday Talk e-newsletter indicates the plan is to hold an event on Cedar between Costa's Candies and Restaurant and Kottke Jewelers at 5:30 pm.

The chamber still has openings for players and sponsors for their annual golf outing Thursday, August 1 at the Owatonna Country Club. There are several levels of sponsorship opportunities. Golfers can sign up as a team or individually. Click here for more golf info.

The final Downtown Thursday function for 2019 is August 1 from 5 - 8:30 pm with music, food, shopping, and art. It is the third Downtown Thursday for the summer.

The newsletter offers these notes on Crazy Days on July 25-27.

  • A car show will take place Thursday, July 25 from 5 - 7 pm in the 200 and 300 blocks of Cedar Avenue. Registration will be on site. The chamber invites people to, "Spread the word and meet up [with] other car enthusiasts on another great night in downtown Owatonna."
  • The chamber is seeking volunteers to assist with the dunk tank. Not to sit in it, but rather people who can collect money at the event. Go here for the full newsletter.
  • Go to the Owatonna Business Partnership portion of the chamber's website for more details on Crazy Days.

Owatonna Parks and Recreation will hold a 3-on-3 basketball tournament during Crazy Days. Go to their website for registration details. Games will be played in downtown Owatonna. Divisions for girls and boys 4th-5th and 6th-7th grade will be held. Cost is $30 per team with up to five players.
