Netflix seems to have equal amounts of exclusive stand-up specials to complement its ever-growing ranks of original series, but when Chris Rock gets involved, we stand-up and take notice. After an eight-year absence from the stage, Rock will return in 2017 with not one, but two new Netflix comedy specials, following a new world tour.

Per Netflix’s official confirmation, revered comedian Rock will tape two all-new specials to debut on Netflix in the coming years, the first of which will tape in 2017 after Rock’s upcoming world tour. The as-yet-untitled specials mark the first since Rock’s fifth taped performance in 2008, that of HBO’s Kill the Messenger.

Says Netflix of the specials, which THR claims Rock took home a cool $40 million for:

Chris Rock is a beloved actor and director, and his remarkable stand-up makes him comic royalty. There is no one like him, and Netflix offers the global platform and creative freedom that will serve as a perfect home for someone with his incredible talent.

Following two 2016 Emmy Nominations for Patton Oswalt and John Mulaney, Netflix has upcoming comedy specials from Joe Rogan, Dana Carvey, Michael Che, Gabriel Iglesias, Reggie Watts and Colin Quinn (directed by Jerry Seinfeld). For his part, Rock also appeared in Netflix’s A Very Murray Christmas, and directed Amy Schumer’s HBO special, Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo.

Details of the tour are still being ironed out, but stay tuned for more news of Chris Rock’s Netflix specials.
