The Faribault City Council is scheduled to have a special meeting this morning to declare a State of Emergency in the city for cleanup purposes.  Faribault Emergency Management Director/Fire Chief Dustin Dienst will be on our KDHL AM Minnesota program this morning to give some information to the public.

Please listen.  If you have a mobile device it really is the way to tune in.  Just download the FREE KDHL app.  When storms hit, it is the way to get important information because there is no static from storms.  It's as clear as can be.

A National Weather Service Assessment Team should be in the area to determine if a tornado or straight line winds caused the destruction in Faribault and the surrounding areas of Morristown, Medford, Waterville, Elysian, Northfield and Owatonna.

Cannon Falls was also hit by the storm and will have a team assess damage there.

Part 1

Part 2

The AM Minnesota program will be cut short today so Dienst can be at the special City Council meeting for today's declaration.  I hope to attend also.
