Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service is advising residents in southeast Minnesota to be prepared for a cold morning - the coldest weather since February.

The agency says very cold wind chill values will persist through mid-morning, dipping as low as -15 to -30 degrees.

Wind chill values overnight and through the mid-morning hours will
fall to between 15 and 20 degrees below zero, possibly as low as 25
degrees below zero at a few locations. Please exercise caution
when heading outdoors for any prolonged period of time. To protect
yourself and others for which you may provide care, dress in
plenty of layers and cover exposed skin surfaces to prevent
frostbite.

Another concern - driving conditions may be dicey in many areas due to Tuesday’s snow.

The NWS is reporting snowfall totals in the 2 - 5 inch range across the region. Rochester’s official total was 2.5 inches.

High temperatures on Wednesday are only expected to reach the 10 - 15 degree range. It will be slightly warmer Thursday and Friday but colder weather will return Friday night and continue through the weekend with lows around -10 Sunday morning.
