Dennison Days Kicks Off Friday Night

Dennison Days starts Friday night with a street dance at Mar Lea's in downtown Dennison.  You can kick up your heels beginning 8:00 p.m. with the Ya Ya Boys performing.

The Dennison Lions Club organizes the event and hopes to see a lot of people enjoy themselves this weekend.  Last year due to the pandemic there was no event.

Saturday there are fun events the entire day.

7:00 a.m. The Annual BBQ Cook-Off takes place with over $2,500 in prizes on the line.  Judging is at 2:30 in the afternoon.  Contact kingpin1876@gmail.com to register or get more information.  A phone number for both is 612-968-9547.

7:30 a.m. Sign Up for the Clutchmen Truck and Tractor Pull at the Pull Site.  Larry Enfield is your contact 507-789-6692

8:00 until 11:00 a.m. All You Can Eat Dad's Waffle Breakfast includes waffles, sausage, coffee, juice, milk.  $9 for adults, $5 for kids 12 & under, 3 and under FREE.  Under the Mainstreet Tent.

8:00 a.m. Citywide Garage Sales and Street Vendors begin.  There is also a 5K Run beginning at Paul's Plumbing Building, north of Dennison Depot.

Classic Car Show on Main Street begins with Trophies awarded at 1:00 p.m. Contact is Steve King at 612-968-9547.

9:00 a.m. Truck and Tractor Pull begins on the Hill.  Euchre at Fireside Lounge.  More information available from Jen Eggum 507-649-0602.

10:00 a.m. Cow Milking Contest across from Fireside with KDHL Farm Director Jerry Groskreutz taking on all challengers.

11:00 a.m. Food Stands Open.  Joel Stenhaug and Jim Tracy Memorial Horseshoe Tournament in City Park.  Kid's Pedal Pull on Main Street.  Pre-register 10:30 a.m.

1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Kiddie Carnival & Games beside City Hall presented by Randolph FFA students.

1:30 p.m. Parade Downtown features Kiddie Parade (age 12 and under) at start.  There is a $100 prize for Best Parade Entry!  Sign up at NOON south side of Main Street.  For more information contact Diane at 612-532-0268.

2:30 p.m. Purse Bingo under Mainstreet Tent.

7:00 p.m. to Midnight live music from "Driver Five" on Mainstreet Stage courtesy of Capitol Construction and Fireside Lounge and Supper Club.  There is no cover charge.  It is an 18 and older event.  Must be 21 to drink.

Dennison Lions Club is conducting a Raffle with 1st prize $500 cash.  2nd prize $200, 3rd prize $100.  4th prize additional prizes including gift certificates to local businesses.  Drawing will be held 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Fireside Lounge.  Need not be present to win.  Winner responsible for any taxes or fees.

This event is being held rain or shine.
