In their first year of competition the Divine Mercy Catholic School/Bethlehem Academy Middle School Robotics Team is heading to the State Robotics Tournament February 2, 2019.  The team qualified based on their work at the December 8, 2018 competition at Loyola Catholic School in Mankato.

Out of 22 teams competing, the DMCS/BA team was first in qualifiers by 11 points and second in the finals by 4 points.  The team beat out teams with more experience and resources, bringing home two trophies at their second-ever competitive event.  The team also brought home a judge's choice award for the team best able to describe their robot and the process that went into creating it.

Coach Matt Robinson was joined by co-captains Zander Smith and Peter Schoolmeesters on today's KDHL AM MInnesota program which originated from Bethlehem Academy.  The co-captains are in sixth grade and explained how the program works.  What went into developing and building their robot and more.

Other members of the team were Ethan Martin, Matthew Friesen, Michael Crone, Joseph Kunze, Saegeol Hwang, Thatcher Simon and Monica Wilder.
