Falcon Volleyball Fifth Seed, Lakeville Schools Top Two

The Faribault Falcon Volleyball team is the #5 seed in the Section 1 Class 3A Volleyball Tournament that begins Wednesday, October 25 at the high seeds.

The Falcons (18-7) will host #13 Albert Lea (1-15) in Nomeland Gym Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

If they win they travel to Rochester Century Friday night.

#1 seed Lakeville North will play the #9 Owatonna (11-16) at #8 Farmington (9-18) winner in the Panthers gym Friday.

#2 seed Lakeville South hosts the winner of the #10 Winona (5-21) at #7 Rochester John Marshall (15-11) match.

#3 seed Northfield is tied with Lakeville North for the best record in the Section and won the Big Nine Conference this season without dropping a single set.  On Friday they will see either #6 Rochester Mayo (14-13) or #11 Austin (4-21) come to their place.

Lakeville North and Lakeville South joined Eagan for the South Suburban Co-Championship with one loss each.  South knocked off Eagan, Eagan defeated North and North beat South.

Section One is the toughest volleyball section in the state in Class 3a and 1A and you could also make the argument for Class 2A.

Seven of the twelve teams in Section 1 Class 3A have winning records and four have over 20 wins on the season.

The four with 20 wins are the top four seeds in Section 1 Class 3A Lakeville North (26-2) and Lakeville South (24-4),Northfield (26-2) and Rochester Century (21-6).
