Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Nort Johnson will be on our KDHL AM Minnesota program at 9:30 this morning.  The Faribault City Council meeting as a Joint Committee talked about the need for more parking in the downtown area.  The Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) denied a permit to demolish a building purchased by the city for parking.

The building is over 100 years old and that's why the Heritage Preservation Commission wants to save it.  By the nature of it's name you can see why the HPC denied the permit.  Their job is to look out for the preservation of historic properties in the city.

Mayor Kevin Voracek joined us on the KDHL News Line during the 8:05 a.m. News this morning and said the city is appealing the HPC denial.  The Mayor did say the ultimate decision will be made by the Faribault City Council.

I hope you can listen to the program.  If 9:30 a.m. doesn't work for you audio from today's program will be uploaded onto this page by mid-afternoon.  So come back and listen at your leisure.
