The 83rd Annual Faribault Pet Parade was held this evening ending with the Fridley City Band performing in the Central Park Bandshell.  The weather was perfect for parade participants and spectators alike.

Some bouncy houses were also getting plenty of use next to the bandshell in Central Park.  There was a very good crowd listening to the concert.  All ages were enjoying the beautiful evening.

The theme for this year's Faribault Parks and Recreation Department Pet Parade was Jurassic World.  Due to the construction downtown the route was changed with the start at 3rd Avenue NW and 10th Street NW.  The parade then went south on 3rd Avenue NW to Central Park.

There were 23 categories of parade entries ranging from big dogs and rabbits to unusual pets and farm animals.

You might recall last December the Winterfest Parade was initially weathered out and then rescheduled.  The Memorial Day Parade was cancelled due to rain this spring.  The Heritage Days Parade was cancelled in June due to severe weather in the area following a downpour.

The Heritage Days Parade was rescheduled for next Friday, August 9, 2019.  There will be a car cruise that evening and music.  The Paradise Center for the Arts Blue Collar Ribs and Arts Festival is next Saturday in downtown Faribault.
