Junior Madelyn Skjeveland will be participating in the 800 meter run with a seed time of 2:16.36.  The fastest seed time is 2:13.79 by Andover senior Alexa Havon.  Skjeveland will probably have to beat her best seed time to advance to the finals because the top two finishers from each heat and the five next best times advance.  The Falcon has the 3rd fastest time in her heat and sixth fastest seed time overall.

Also competing Friday in the Triple Jump is Faribault senior Simon Thok Lual.  His seed mark of 43 feet 10.5 inches is the second best in his flight and 11th best overall.  The best seed mark going into the competition is owned by Duluth Denfeld senior Wryott Gerson at 47 feet 4 inches.

Falcon Junior Trey Krennich will compete in the High Jump Saturday and enters state with a seed mark of 6 feet 4 inches.  Seniors Elijah Hylen of St. Francis and Noah Cvetnic of Chaska have the best marks at 6 feet 8 inches.

Northfield has several athletes competing. On Friday sophomore Emma Hodapp participates in the 100 meter dash with a seed time of 12.20.  That's the sixth fastest in the entire field and second fastest in her heat.  The top 2 in each of three heats and next three best times are in the finals.

Raiders senior Elizabeth Acheson is in the same heat with Skjeveland in the 800 meter run with the second fastest seed time in the heat.

The Northfield 4x400 meter relay team of freshman Clara Lippert, junior Ella Palmquist and seniors Grace and Elizabeth Acheson have the third best time in their heat.

On Friday Raiders senior Emma Roethler will participate in the girls Discus Throw.  She enters the event with the 7th best seed mark at 126 feet 11 inches.  The best mark is owned by Roseville Area senior Michaela Hawkins at 158 feet 4 inches.

Saturday Roethler will throw the Shot Put.  Her seed mark of 40 feet 1.5 inches is the 7th best going into the Class AA state competition.

The Big Nine Conference is represented very well at the State Track and Field Meet.  For example Hodapp will compete against 5 other girls from the league in the 100 Meter Dash.  They include:

  • Sophomore Anissa Lee and sophomore Marquetta Berlin Burns of Winona
  • Senior Kinga Moses of Rochester Century
  • Junior Molly Haslam of Rochester Mayo
  • Freshman Ava Wolfe of Owatonna

Owatonna junior Keenon Young competes in the 300 Meter Hurdles along with senior Dominique Sealy of Mankato West.

The Huskies 4X400 Meter Relay team of sophomore Zach Stransky, senior Zach Barrett, juniors Fanta Omot and Keenon Young goes up against teams from Mankato West and Rochester Century in their 8 team Friday heat.
