The Faribault Lakers scored a 10-0 eight inning win over the Prior Lake Mudcats in Prior Lake tonight.  Matt Lane scattered two hits over 6 innings and Jack Helgeson allowed two hits in 2 innings of mound work to combine for the shutout victory.  The Lakers cranked out 14 hits.

Faribault scored two runs in each of the first two innings, had a run in the third and three more runs in the 4th inning before notching single runs in the 6th and 8th for the early win.  Dylan Valentyn and Matt Lane each homered in the game.  Dylan O'Neil had two doubles, 3 hits total and Blake Langerud was 5 for 5 at the plate with 3 RBI.

Lane also collected 2 hits in the lopsided affair.  Lane tallied 5 strikeouts, 1 walk, while throwing 58 pitches, 39 for strikes.  Helgeson threw 24 pitches with 18 strikes, no walks or strikeouts.

Topher Rose of Prior Lake took the loss while going 4 and 1/3 innings, allowing 11 hits, 8 runs, 7 earned, no walks, 5 strikeouts, 80 pitches, 57 strikes.  Three other Mudcats threw in the game.

The dominant performance gives Faribault a 9-8 record, they host the Rochester Roadrunners Monday at 7:30 p.m.
