This is also a good reminder for everyone this time of year that with gifts and packages arriving in mailboxes and on doorsteps to take extra precautions to make sure your gifts or packages are taken by porch pirates and gift grinches.
It may be a good idea to utilize Amazon lockers at various businesses, instruct the delivery agent to put the package or item in an area out of a line of sight, or simply arrange to pick up the items at the post office.
Other things you can do to deter package theft are:
- installing a camera doorbell system that records and sends a notification for movement or a rung bell.
- require a signature for delivery.
- be a good neighbor and keep an eye on packages left for neighbors, or arrange with your neighbors to pick up the packages and keep them safe in your home until they arrive back from work or vacation.
