A 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased after being reported missing early Sunday morning in northern Rice County according to a news release from the Rice County Sheriff's Office. 

At 1:47 a.m. Rice County Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a missing adult male snowmobiler in rural northern Rice County. The male subject left a residence in Webster Township on his snowmobile and did not arrive at his destination in the City of Northfield.

Deputies and Northfield Fire & Rescue began searching possible routes to include areas in rural Webster, Bridgewater, and Forest Townships. The missing male and his snowmobile were located in the 6000 block of Hazelwood Avenue at approximately 3:45 a.m.

The male subject was transported to Northfield Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Victim identification pending notification of family.

The Rice County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Northfield Fire & Rescue and Northfield Ambulance on the scene.
