Free COVID-19 Testing Coming to Faribault Next Week
Another round of free COVID-19 testing is coming to the Faribault Armory next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All you have to do is schedule an appointment.
The testing takes place from Noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Faribault Armory, 3000 West Airport Road in Faribault. It is open to all people, with or without symptoms. No insurance or identification is required.
A news release from the RIce County Public Health Department quotes Department Director Deb Purfeerst, “Testing uncovers positive cases earlier. Getting tested helps people know if they have contracted COVID-19 so they are informed and can protect those they are close to who might be most vulnerable to serious complications. It’s a key strategy for fighting spread of a virus like COVID-19.”
Testing will be done with a nasal swab.
To avoid long lines, people are encouraged to pre-register for a time slot. Visit https://www.primarybio.com/r/faribault to sign up for an appointment.
Those who are unable to sign up online or need interpretation can call 1-855-612-0677 for assistance.
Rice County Public Health staff will be assisting at the event. Spanish and Somali interpreters, as well as language line, will be available for those needing interpreter services. People are again encouraged to pre-register.
Testing was conducted in Northfield over the last few days. The Minnesota Department of Health has reported over the next few weeks there would be testing opportunities in multiple communities across the state.
The tests are open to anyone who feels they need to be tested whether they have symptoms or not.
