Maybe you're a little bit country, maybe you're a little bit rock 'n' roll, or maybe you're a little bit of both. If so, our sister station KDHL has a party for you. Now I realize that Power 96 is a classic rock station, but I've come to recognize over the years that country music has evolved. It now incorporates a lot of the things that used to be only associated with rock shows and has created a sound more akin to some of the classic rock bands from the '70s. I have a feeling that if bands like the Eagles, Skynyrd or the Allman Brothers were just now hitting the music scene, they would be categorized as part of the country music genre. With that in mind, I also realize that a lot of our listeners probably enjoy both rock and country music, so let me tell you a little bit about a fun music festival that's coming to Rochester on Saturday, September 10.

Hosted by our sister station 920 AM KDHL, and held on the Olmsted County Fairgrounds, this little hoedown called Harvest Jam features regional favorites The Plotthounds, JT and the Gunslingers and Roadhouse 6, and is headlined by country hitmaker Rodney Atkins. In a show of appreciation for all the hard-working men and women who put their lives on the line each day to make our communities and world a better and safer place to live, we're offering them a chance to experience this late summer music festival. If you know someone who you consider to be an American hero who has served, or continues to serve, our country through the military or public service, we’d like you to tell us about them. We’ll share some of those stories on the air and select some of those brave men and women to receive VIP tickets and parking passes to Harvest Jam.

To nominate someone for our American Heroes salute, simply fill out this form. If your nominee is chosen, we may have to reach out to you for more info and to invite them to take part in Harvest Jam.
