The Hayfield Vikings are the #3 seed and the Randolph Rockets the #4 seed at the MSHSL Class A State Baseball Tournament.  The Vikings play 5:30 p.m. against Sacred Heart.  The Rockets are scheduled to begin 12:30 p.m. against #5 seed Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.  All opening round games are being played Thursday at the Mini-Met in Jordan.  Semi-Finals are Friday at Noon and 2:30 p.m. at the Mini-Met.

Consolation bracket games will be played at Chaska Athletic Park Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  The Third Place game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Mini-Met.  The State Championship will be played 10:00 a.m. at Target Field in Minneapolis on Thursday, June 20 according to the bracket on the MSHSL website.

Top seed in Class A are the BOLD Warriors out of Section 2  with a 17-5 record.  The Warriors defeated a very good Springfield team twice by scores of 8-4 and 3-1 to advance to the State Tournament.  BOLD opens with the Sebeka Trojans (18-7) at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Jordan.

#2 seed New York Mills Eagles (19-4) plays at 3:00 p.m. against the South Ridge Panthers (20-6).  #3 seed Hayfield (22-2) begins state action against the Sacred Heart Eagles (13-8).  The Vikings lost in their season opener to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 13-1 and to fellow Gopher Conference opponent Blooming Prairie 4-3.  Sacred Heart outscored their opponents 26-5 in 5 games at Sections with their pitchers throwing three shutouts.  The Vikings are riding a 16 game winning streak.

#4 seed Randolph (21-2) has two losses but has only lost to one team all season.  Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander/Kingsland defeated them twice in Southeast Conference action by scores of 6-4 and 9-0.  GMLOK is a Class 2A school.   The Rockets open at state with #5 seed Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (20-2).  The Fighting Saints only losses were to Albany 1-0 and Lac Qui Parle Valley 2-1.
