Hospice Tree Lighting is Monday Night
Faribault Area Hospice Foundation Light Up a Life Tree Lighting Ceremony begins 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Allina District One Hospital Surgery Center parking lot.
KDHL Radio will be broadcasting the event live at 920 AM, 97.9 FM and via free KDHL app.
Hospital officials tell us the event will also be broadcast on their YouTube channel. The same channel used last year when they event was not held live.
Here is a link to the channel. The link was provided by Allina Hospital to KDHL so we could provide it to our many loyal radio listeners and website content fans.
Many people over the years have lined the streets in a way they can see the trees light up at the end of the event while listening on their radios in heated comfort.
It truly is the best of both worlds. I can't explain how cool it is to be there in person. But in today's world I understand people wanting to stay safe.
The Beau Chant choir we've been told will be recorded for the event which typically runs between 15 and 20 minutes.
I have been to most of them over the decades and have shared many times my belief that it keeps the Christmas spirit in the right perspective for me.
If you have never attended I would highly recommend coming out. I honestly believe you will enjoy the simplicity of the event. It doesn't have to be long to be impactful.
Every year many of the same people attend and at the end even though it's been done over three decades there are oohs and aahs over the lights going on.
My favorite thing is to hear all in attendance join in singing Silent Night Holy Night after the lights are switched on.
This is an interesting read.
