I don't know about you, but I'm definitely excited about getting to relax over a nice, long three-day weekend. But with that in mind, it's absolutely important to remember why it's a holiday weekend. That's because this Monday is Memorial Day, when Americans are meant to remember and honor those who gave their lives for our country.

And here in Rochester, one way to pay your respects to our fallen Armed Service members is by taking part in our local Memorial Day Program, which is free and open to the public.

The event starts with music from the Plummer Carillon and ends with services at several local cemeteries. Check out the full schedule below:

9:15 AM - Plummer Carillon
9:45 AM - Procession from Central Park along 1st Avenue to Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial
10:30 AM - Program at Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial
12 PM - Veteran organizations will honor the dead whose remains are buried at sea along the 7th Street Bridge by Silver Lake Park

Afterwards, there will be services at the following cemeteries:

12:30 PM - Oakwood & Calvary
1:15 PM - Farm Hill
2:15 PM - Quarry Hill Park West
3:30 PM - Oakwood
