BBB: Beware Of This Popular Toy Scam This Holiday Season
The holidays are here. You're probably starting your holiday shopping and of course, scammers are already figuring out how to target you.
This shouldn't be surprising in the slightest, considering scammers will target just about anyone and anything these days. They aren't slowing down anytime soon.

Just this month, the Duluth Police Department took to social media to warn locals about a new scam that has to do with fake fundraisers. Now that is really terrible!
This scam can happen anywhere and likely will as we get even closer to Christmas. It all has to do with toys. Yup, the toys you want to buy the kids in your life.
Better Business Bureau Warns Of Toy Scams Ahead Of Holidays
The BBB warns about these types of scams every year, pointing out there is always a hot new toy that parents clamor to get for their kids! It really is a tale as old as time: you search for the toy that is sold out everywhere but then just so happen to find it online, making it a true Christmas miracle. Not quite.

The website that has the toy seems legitimate, and creates a sense of urgency - you just have to get this toy before it sells out! The problem is that it's a scam and you don't get the toy but you still paid for it.
Scammers may even send you a fake or knockoff version of the toy to make good or make it seem less like a scam. In other instances, the websites disappear and nothing is ever shipped.

As always, only buy things from real and legitimate websites. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you happen to be shopping on a new website, do some research. Chances are it's fake and nobody wants to be dealing with that during the holidays, that's for sure.
