Popular Northland Meat Market Reopens March 31
A popular Northland meat shop has announced a reopening date for this spring, just in time for Easter and the grilling season. They announced on social media that they would reopen their meat counter on March 31st, 2026.
Old World Meats, located just off Central Entrance on Basswood Avenue, closed its store for the slow winter months to focus on its successful meat stick operation. They create snack sticks that you can find all over the world, right in their Duluth, Minnesota store.

They explained their closure was to focus on the profitable meat stick business and to stock up. The first few months of the year are typically very slow for retail, but now, as we head into the Easter holiday and upcoming grilling season, business is expected to pick up.
The Wrazidlo family has operated the store for three generations after founder Frank Wrazidlo brought his family's meat recipes from Germany when he immigrated to the United States in 1928. Grandson Paul now carries on the family traditions, using the Old World ways like his family taught him.
