Totally Awesome Pictures That Will Make Minnesotans Miss The ’80s
Whenever we enter the first few months of a new year, we often set goals to accomplish and things to do with our family and friends in the new year. My wife actually creates a vision board each year, filled with professional and personal goals. What the mind can conceive the body can achieve, right?
However, with each passing year, it's also hard not to get nostalgic about the past. For many people, the 1980s were a decade that stands out. Some will say that one big reason was that the technology, business, and creators of the '80s revolutionized popular culture
While that's true, the '80s also stand out because they were full of epic historical moments, like the 1980 USA Men's Hockey team, the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Countless pop culture moments also will not be forgotten. I mean, who doesn't know who made the Moon Walk a global sensation after he performed the dance move on stage during a Motown special in 1983?
Minnesota In The 1980s
In Minnesota, there were plenty of cultural impacts made in the '80s. For example, Minneapolis became a major player in pop music, with hits like "Funkytown" by Lipps Inc. and an even bigger impact was felt by Prince's rise to fame on stage and screen. Meanwhile, Alternative rock bands like Hüsker Dü and the Replacements achieved cult status.

The '80s were big for me as that was when I lived my formative teen years. Even if you were born well after what some have called 'The Greed Decade,' chances are you know a lot about it and will instantly recognize many of the images below that defined it.
Enjoy this mint trip down memory lane, it's totally awesome!
