Surprising Pick for Minnesota’s Best ‘Hole-in-the-Wall’ Restaurant
You don't have to be in a fancy restaurant to get a good meal. In fact, some of the best meals can be found in small, modest restaurants.
MSN.com recently put together a list of the top "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants in each state. According to them, "they usually don't look like much on the outside... but inside you'll discover amazing meals."
The list was compiled using "a variety of positive online reviews posted to reputable platforms," and one restaurant in Minnesota stood out as the best “hole-in-the-wall” in the state.

Duluth Grill Takes the Crown - Is It Really a “Hole-in-the-Wall?”
Some may debate whether Minnesota's top pick truly fits the "hole-in-the-wall" label. The state has many small, unassuming gems that match the description better. Still, MSN's selection offers undeniably great food.

Duluth Grill, located just off I-35 on 27th Avenue West in Duluth, is best known for its fresh, local, and organic menu. It may not feel like a “hole-in-the-wall” to many visitors, but nearly everyone agrees, this spot is worth the stop.
Open daily from 8 AM to 3 PM, Duluth Grill serves a breakfast menu with items like eggs Benedict and burrito bowls, and a lunch menu with sandwiches and hearty bowls.
A Family-Owned Duluth Favorite
The restaurant originally opened in 2001 as Duluth Grill Embers. By 2008, it had completely dropped the Embers branding and simply became the Duluth Grill. Tom Hanson and his family own the Duluth Grill, as well as other local favorites like OMC Smokehouse, Corktown Deli & Brews, and several other properties around town.
