Green Bay Ranks 3rd Worst in the Country for Dead Zones
DeadCellZones.com, a database of wireless coverage complaints, has released a list of cities with the most cell phone signal dead zone complaints. Green Bay, Wisconsin, is ranked the third worst city in the country.
According to the data, Green Bay has 407 complaints about poor service per million people. Only Boulder, Colorado, and Cincinnati, Ohio, ranked worse than the home of the Packers.
Dead Zones in Green Bay vs. Other Cities
Green Bay also stands out for dead zone complaints, with a staggering 1,237 per million people. For comparison, Minneapolis has only 503 complaints per million people, highlighting just how significant the problem is in Green Bay.
Midwest States Lead in Best and Worst Cell Coverage
Holafly, which compiled the data, noted that another Midwest state, South Dakota, ranks as the best state for cell service, with only 41 complaints per million people. On the other hand, Hawaii has the highest number of dead zone complaints, with 282 per million residents.
Minnesota fares relatively well, with 92 dead zone complaints per million people, while Wisconsin comes in higher at 116 per million.

Why the Wait for Better Service?
Big wireless carriers like Verizon and AT&T don’t make changes quickly. Holafly explains, "Relying on the telecom companies to improve the situation can be a waiting game since they respond both to their own financial motivations and the demands."
