As the weather begins to warm, and we as Minnesotans start to spend more and more time outside, the thought of summer celebrations comes to mind. The Fourth of July here in St. Cloud is awesome, I love the fireworks over the river! But one Minnesota fireworks show is in the running to be called the best in the nation, but you have to vote for it. The Minneapolis Aquatennial fireworks show made the final list of fireworks shows being voted on, to be called the best in the nation.

The USA Today is taking online votes for the 'best place to see fireworks' in the US. I'll admit the Aquatennial's fireworks have a steep hill to climb as they battle fireworks displays from Boston, DC, and San Diego.

Here is what the USA Today had to say about Minneapolis' fireworks show:

The Minneapolis Aquatennial always takes place the third full week of July. Popular attractions include the Torchlight Parade and the huge Target Fireworks show along the Mississippi riverfront. The display features more than 10,000 pounds of fireworks choreographed to a soundtrack.

I've never seen the Aquatennial show before, but I've heard people talk about the show, so it must be worth checking out, if you are around the third week in July.

Voting on the 'best place to see fireworks' in the US runs through Monday, May 13 at 11am with the winner being announced on Wednesday, May 22.

You can see all of the nominated fireworks shows, and vote for your favorite by heading here.
