
Albert Lea Schools Locked Down After FBI Intercepts Threatening Tip
Authorities and school officials have confirmed there is not an ongoing threat to the schools.
Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- Schools in Albert Lea entered a lockdown Monday morning.

That’s according to the Albert Lea Police Department. Albert Lea Police and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the FBI around 7:30 a.m.
Federal authorities had intercepted the tip through social media monitoring. The tip was described as a “potential threat of violence.”

Law enforcement then notified Albert Lea School District officials around 7:45 a.m. Students had begun arriving for the school day and officials moved the students into their buildings, police say.

Police say some of the buildings went into secure mode due to the nature of the threat. Authorities did not say which schools went into a lockdown.
Officers and deputies deployed to the schools to ensure safety, police say.
