The burglaries were reported at La Michoacana Purepecha, at 28 9th St. Southeast and at Mi Mexicana Market, 18 9th St. southeast.
Police did not find anyone inside of the business when they cleared the buildings, Grayson says.
The police report indicates the suspect or suspects entered the buildings by breaking the front doors. Grayson says cash and jewelry were reported missing from the businesses.
The amount of cash and a monetary value estimate of the jewelry reported stolen are not available. The burglaries are under investigation and no arrests have been announced.
Investigators do not believe Wednesday morning’s burglaries are related to the series of ATM burglaries targeting Rochester businesses, Grayson said.
