That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday. Rochester police received the tip and began investigating the case last month.
The cyber tip indicated two videos depicting suspected child sexual abuse material had been uploaded to a Dropbox account in May of this year.

Upon further investigation, police identified the account holder as 21-year-old Luis Fernando Escalante.
Officers executed a search warrant once they found a residence in northwest Rochester he was living at. The warrant was executed on Tuesday.

Escalante gave a statement to law enforcement and confirmed his past and current phone numbers and an email that matched the ones included in the cyber tip.
A review of his Dropbox account by law enforcement led to the discovery of “several images and videos of suspected CSAM,” the complaint says.
