
Unbuckled Driver Taken To Hospital After Smashing Into Tree Along Southeast Minnesota Highway
Minneiska, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorist was taken to a hospital after leaving a southeast Minnesota highway and crashing into a tree.

The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 8:00 Sunday night.
One vehicle was involved in the accident and the driver, who authorities say was not wearing his seatbelt, was the only occupant.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on Hwy. 61 in Minneiska, which is about 15 miles northwest of Winona.
A southbound car left the four-lane highway and rolled before crashing into the tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle, the state crash report says.
31-year-old Eliezer Hernandez Santiago of Winona was identified as the driver of the car. He was taken to a hospital in Wabasha with what the State Patrol describes as non-life-threatening injuries.
Santiago was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report. Hwy. 61 was dry at the time of the accident.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Kellogg Fire and Wabasha Ambulance also responded to the single-vehicle crash.
