Hutchinson, MN (KROC-AM News)- A semi truck driver lost his life after sliding off a slick Minnesota highway early Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol responded to the single-vehicle fatality shortly before 1 a.m. 

Preliminary information indicates the highway had snow and ice on it at the time of the deadly accident.

Nebraska Truck Driver Killed After Driving Off Slick Highway, Crashing into Tree in Hutchinson, MN

Tuesday morning’s fatal crash occurred on Hwy. 15 at the intersection of Echo Dr. Southeast in Hutchinson.

A northbound semi truck and trailer left the divided highway while navigating a curve. The rig then rolled before striking a tree, according to the state crash report. 

Authorities describe the driver as a 67-year-old Lincoln, Nebraska man. His name and other information surrounding his death have not been released.

The preliminary report indicates an ambulance did not respond to the scene. 

The State Patrol plans to release more information regarding the deadly crash by late  Wednesday night.
