Update: Motorcyclist Killed in Crash ID'D as 26-Year-Old Man 

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash.

Deadly Motorcycle Versus SUV Collision 

Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the deadly incident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Street Southeast, Woodlake Drive, and the entrance ramp to northbound South Broadway. The initial report indicated there had been a collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Victim Pronounced Dead at the Scene

Grayson says the adult man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.

Busy Road Closed For Investigation

The incident required the closure of the eastbound lanes of 40th Street Southeast from the South Broadway ramp to Saint Bridget Road Southeast while the Police Department's Forensic Mapping Unit processed the crash scene. The road closure was in effect for approximately 2 1/2 hours.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded and assisted at the scene.
