Feds Take Over Case After 9-Pound Rochester Drug Seizure
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Federal charges have been filed against a Rochester man in connection with a months-long drug investigation that led to the seizure of nearly nine pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine.
28-year-old Burhan Mohamed Hassan was charged last year in Olmsted County Court with two counts of first-degree drug sales, third-degree drug possession, and obstructing the legal process. According to court records, the charges stemmed from two controlled purchases of cocaine and meth from a law enforcement informant in April and September of last year.

County Case Dropped as Federal Prosecutors Take Over
The charges against Hassan in Olmsted County Court were dismissed earlier this month. The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office stated that the decision to drop the charges was made “in the interest of justice” after federal prosecutors took over the case.
