Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Minneapolis are investigating a deadly shooting.

A statement from the Minneapolis Police Department says officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of gunfire Wednesday night at an address in the 2300 block of 4th St. North. Dispatch reports indicate about 14 gunshots were heard of around 11:15 p.m. 

Responding officers found a man believed to be in his 40’s suffering from what were described as life-threatening gunshot wounds inside of a running vehicle. Life-saving measures to save the gunshot victim were unsuccessful and he died at the scene, police say. 

The victim’s body has been taken to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification. Minneapolis homicide investigators responded to the scene and the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division began collecting evidence.  

So far no arrests have been made. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the deadly shooting to contact CrimeStoppers.
