Minnesota Motorist Removing Deer He Hit from Road Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle
Hastings, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Hastings man was fatally struck by a vehicle as he was removing a deer from a road in Dakota County Wednesday morning.

A news release issued by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says he was moving the deer after he hit it. Another motorist who had stopped to help saw the deadly incident, authorities say.
The deadly incident occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. just south of Hastings on County Rd. 46. near the two-lane road's intersection with General Sieben Dr.
Hastings Man Removing Deer from Road Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Dakota County, MN Wednesday Morning
Authorities say the man had pulled onto the road’s northern shoulder after hitting the animal and was struck by the vehicle after getting out to move the deer.
First responders arrived at the scene but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He’s being described as a 69-year-old man from Hastings. His name has not been released.
Authorities say the driver who struck the Hastings man remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. He was not hurt and his name has not been released.
The deadly incident is under investigation. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office is extending its condolences to the man's family and friends.
