
Minneapolis Fire Department Reports Deadly Couch Blaze
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minneapolis Fire Department is reporting that a fire in a couch claimed the life of a woman and a dog Tuesday evening.
A news release issued by the fire department indicates firefighters responded to a report of a fire inside a duplex around 6:30 PM. The responding units spotted smoke coming from the second floor when they arrived.

According to the news release, the firefighters located heavy smoke coming from a second floor apartment and found a fire smoldering in a couch. The victims were then discovered on the floor of the residence.
Lifesaving measures were attempted, but officials reported the woman and the dog were pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
