Ottertail, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota woman lost her life in a head-on crash with a truck on Friday afternoon.

She was the only person in her vehicle and the truck driver was the sole occupant of the other vehicle. The State Patrol responded to the fatality shortly after 1:30 p.m. 

The deadly crash occurred on Hwy. 78 near Ottertail, which is about 33 miles east of Fergus Falls.

State Patrol: Young Fergus Falls, MN Woman Killed in Crash with Boom Truck Was Not Buckled Up

An eastbound SUV and northbound boom truck collided on the two-lane highway, according to the preliminary state crash report.

The State Patrol says the SUV driver died in the crash.

She is described as a 27-year-old woman from Fergus Falls. Officials have not yet released her name and more information regarding her death, however the state crash report indicates she was not buckled up.

23-year-old Henry Francis Gibbs of Battle Lake, MN was identified as the boom truck operator.

He was treated at the scene of the deadly crash for non-life-threatening injuries.
