Charges Filed Against Rochester Man For Multiple Sexual Assaults

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is now facing charges in two criminal sexual conduct cases.

Last week, authorities issued an arrest warrant charging 51-year-old Robert John Dunham with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and false imprisonment.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman multiple times while she appeared to be intoxicated and also preventing her from leaving his home.

Dunham was arrested on that warrant on Saturday and arraigned in the case on Monday.

Dunham was also charged and arraigned in a different sexual assault case involving a teenage victim on Monday.

51-Year-Old Rochester Man Accused of Carrying Out Multi-Year Sexual Relationship with Teenage Girl

The criminal complaint in the new case alleges Dunham was involved in a multi-year sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Rochester police learned of the alleged sexual relationship during their investigation of the other case Dunham is charged in, according to the new criminal complaint.

Investigators seized electronic devices from Dunham while serving a search warrant at his home in February. They found evidence of the relationship while extracting data from the devices, the complaint says.

The court document says the two met on a dating app when the victim was 15. The victim told police that Dunham would pay her in exchange for sex.

She also said Dunham was aware of her age after their first meeting and that he replied, “he was okay with her age and that he has had a sexual relationship with other juveniles,” the complaint says.

The charges describe the relationship as “on and off" for a period of three years.

Sexually Explicit Videos and Payments Found During Investigation

Dunham is also accused of giving the victim extra money in exchange for letting him take photos of her. The complaint describes most of the photos as sexually explicit.

Investigators found three sexually explicit videos of Dunham and the victim that were recorded at Dunham’s Rochester home over the span of their relationship, the court document says.

The extraction also led to the discovery of Cash App payments Dunham made to the victim, the complaint says.

Dunham is charged in the new case with third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a victim between the ages of 13-15 and possession of child pornography.

His conditional bail has been set at $100,000 and he is due back in court later this month.
