Rochester Arson Suspect Skips Court Date – Arrest Warrant Issued
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County judge has issued an arrest warrant for a Rochester man accused of starting a fire in the Olmsted County Detention Center.
The warrant was issued for 46-year-old Devon Floyd Sackett after he failed to report for a required hearing in Olmsted County Court earlier this week.
He is charged with felony arson and damage to property charges, along with felony terroristic threats charges connected to two other cases.
Court records indicate he had been released from custody without bail.
According to court documents, Sackett is accused of using a paperclip to create a short circuit in an electrical outlet to ignite a fire inside the Adult Detention Center on December 4, 2022. The criminal complaint says the toilet and sink in his jail cell were also partially ripped out of the wall.
Sackett was also accused of breaking off a sprinkler head and using it to smash portions of a window on a door after he was moved to a different area in the jail. Overall, the damage was estimated at nearly $4500.
The terroristic threats charges allege Sackett threatened to harm two Olmsted County Detention Deputies in separate incidents at the jail in November and December 2022.

Court records also indicate he had been convicted in Dodge County of fleeing police, terroristic threats, and obstructing the legal process.
