Rochester Motorist Sentenced for Driving at & Hitting Pedestrians, Ramming Squad Vehicle
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A 22-year-old Rochester motorist has avoided a prison sentence for hitting two pedestrians and a Rochester police vehicle.

Hafsa Mohamed entered a guilty plea in the case last month.
She was charged with felony counts of second and third-degree assault and criminal vehicular operation, along with gross misdemeanor damage to property, two misdemeanor DWI counts, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Court records indicate Mohamed pleaded to the felony criminal vehicular operation charge In exchange, for the dismissal of all of the other charges.
Man Taken to Hospital After Being Hit By Vehicle in Downtown Rochester Parking Lot
The criminal complaint alleges Mohamed drove a vehicle at a woman she had been in a dispute with and the woman’s boyfriend in the parking lot of the Riverview Suites apartment complex at 211 1st St. NE in downtown Rochester in the early morning of July 3.
She is alleged to have driven a vehicle at them, hitting them both, the charges say.
The woman told officers she was fine. The complaint says the man was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for a broken leg and other injuries.
Rochester police responded and attempted a squad vehicle to block Mohamed in. She was then accused of ramming the squad vehicle multiple times. Mohamed later told police she hit the squad vehicle because, “she was not wearing her glasses,” the complaint says.

Noticing signs of impairment, officers administered sobriety testing.
A preliminary breath test conducted at the scene measured her blood-alcohol concentration at more than .14. The criminal complaint also says testing of a blood sample later obtained from Mohamed at the Olmsted County Jail put her BAC at more than .12.
Mohamed was sentenced on Monday to three years probation and 100 hours of community service, court records say.
