Shelter Order Caused by Stolen Vehicle Chase Lifted in Small Minnesota Town
Isle, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in eastern Minnesota have lifted a shelter-in-place order for a small town that was prompted by a stolen vehicle pursuit.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office asked residents in the City of Isle to lock their doors and stay in their homes. The shelter order was issued around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials say law enforcement was involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle with four occupants that entered the Isle area. The individuals fled the vehicle on foot while it was still in gear.
Deputies apprehended two of the suspects and the two other individuals were still at large. Authorities lifted the shelter order about three hours after issuing it.
The at-large suspects were still on the loose, however deputies received what was described as credible information that they had left the area and were no longer on foot. Mille Lacs County Sheriff Kyle Burton says they have also identified the suspects who evaded deputies.
He encourages anyone with information on the pursuit and stolen vehicle to contact the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office. The names of the suspects have not been released.
