The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights were down by 10 points early tonight to Bethlehem Academy.  They won 51-42 at the Castle in Kenyon.

The Cardinals Anna Cohen, sophmore, started the game on fire from the field along with Kate Trump, senior, getting some nice layups to give BA a 12-2 lead.

The Knights then put a vice grip defense on the floor that got turnover after turnover and before you knew it the game was tied at 12.

At halftime the score was in favor of Kenyon-Wanamingo 24-22.

THe Cardinals had 14 first half turnovers that K-W converted into 10 points while the Knights turned the ball over 7 times with BA scoring 4 points off them.

Bethlehem Academy did a better job in the turnover department in the second half but they went cold shooting while the Knights heated up.

Both teams had 4 three point baskets in the game.  The differenced appeared to be in the paint with Kenyon-Wanamingo scoring 24 points there while the Cardinals tallied 18 points.

The Knights were 4 of 8 from the free throw line while BA was 0 for 3.

The final turnover numbers were 20 for Bethlehem Academy, 13 for Kenyon-Wanamingo.  Points off turnovers were 12 to 6 in favor of the Knights.

Our Malecha's Auto Body of Faribault Crunch Time Faribault Players of the game were Cohen and Trump with 13 and 11 points respectively.

The Cashwise Foods and Pharmacy of Owatonna Deliveries of the game went to Kenyon-Wanamingo's Tess Erlandson, senior, with 13 points (8 in the paint), Josie Flom, junior had 12 points (10 in the lane) and Ivette Mendoza with 9 points (4 in the paint).

The trio also had a number of rebounds in the Gopher Conference battle.

The win avenged a loss early this season in Faribault for K-W.  The Knights are now 9-7 overall, 5-5 in Gopher action while Bethlehem Academy fell to 2-8 in the league and 7-8 overall.
