MBA Regional and Section Tournaments Impacted by Rain
The Faribault Lakers vs. Montgomery Mallards Winner's bracket and Shakopee at New Prague Elimination bracket games scheduled for Sunday were moved to Monday due to much needed rain.
I don't think anyone complained about the precipitation. Many people may have wanted more rain.
Faribault hosts Montgomery Monday at 8:00 p.m. while Shakopee at New Prague is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start in Region 3C Tournament action.
If the Lakers win they host Sunday in the title game. If Montgomery wins they go to Union Hill.
Lonsdale awaits the loser of the Shakopee contest and plays Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The loser of the Bell Field Monday game tangles with Veseli 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Saturday Union Hill clobbered Lonsdale 14-1 in 7 innings to punch their ticket to state and advance to the Region title game.
Veseli ended St. Benedict's season Saturday with a 8-2 Elimination bracket victory.
In Region 5C Red Wing rolled over Wanamingo 10-0 in 7-innings thanks in part to 5 Jacks errors. Wanamingo lost 9-3 Saturday to Cannon Falls.
The Bears are in the title game next weekend after a 3-2 win over Dodge County Sunday. The Diamondbacks defeated top seed Red Wing 8-5 Saturday.
The Bears will play Austin for the Region 5C title and a trip to state Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Red Wing at 4:00 p.m.
Josh Molina hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning for a 5-4 win over Stewartville- Racine.
The Sharks olay 8:00 p.m. Friday in Cannon Falls against Red Wing in a do or die game.
Hastings ended Owatonna's season 10-4 Sunday in Cannon Falls just after 10:30 p.m.
Hawks play Dodge County in Red Wing Friday at 8:00 p.m.
In Class 6C all Sunday games scheduled for Jordan were moved to Monday Elimination bracket games and Tuesday Winner's bracket in Jordan and Gaylord.
Monday, August 7, 2023 at Jordan Waterville takes on Waseca at 7:30 p,m while Le Sueur plays Morristown in Gaylord at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 8, 2023 Blue Earth is at Gaylord 7:00 p.m. while Jordan hosts Belle Plaine at 7:30 p.m.
All Section 1B Sunday games were also moved to 8:00 p.m. starts Monday, August 7, 2023. They play a best of 5 games series.
Top seed St. Patrick is at #8 Hampton (Irish lead series 1-0)
#2 Miesville travels to #7 Elko (Express lead series 1-0)
#3 Rochester is in #6 Northfield (Royals up 1-0)
#4 New Market was supposed to host Dundas but will play in Dundas because Muskies do not have lights on their field. (New Market leads series 1-0)
