Kenyon-Wanamingo is the #3 seeded team in the MSHSL Section 1A Baseball Tournament which begins Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

The Gopher Conference Champions had a 13-5 record going into the seedings and will host Mabel-Canton (4-15)  in Wanamingo.  The winner faces #6 Spring Grove (12-6) or #11 Wabasha-Kellogg (6-13) Saturday at Noon in Austin.

Top seed Southland (16-1) is Southeast Conference champs with their only loss against Lyle-Pacelli (13-2),  The Athletics split games with the Rebels and were defeated by Hayfield last week.  The Rebels will face either #8 Blooming Prairie (10-6) or #9 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (9-10) on Saturday at Noon.

#2 Lyle-Pacelli has #15 Fillmore Central/Lanesboro (1-13) coming to Marcusen Park in Austin Wednesday.  The winner will go up against either #7 Lewiston-Altura (7-9) or #10 Rusford-Peterson (7-12) Saturday.

#4 Hayfield (13-6) will play 4:00 p.m. Wednesday against #13 United South Central (5-13).  If the Vikings win they would be home Saturday against either #5 Goodhue (9-10) or #12 Houston (8-11).

After the first round games which are do-or-die the tournament are scheduled to be played at Riverland College in Austin. It's double elimination after the first round.

Following Saturday contests teams will play again Memorial Day at 4:00 p.m. then Saturday, June 3, 2024 at Noon.

The Section 1A title will be determined on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
