When I bite into a product, I don't like surprises.  Example, I wrote about a recall recently involving 20,000+ peanut butter jars possibility having blue plastic pieces in the product.  NOT what you want to bite into as you are enjoying a PB & J.

Food recalls seem to be more of the norm lately and this latest one is probably the largest I've seen.  This is one you are going to want to double-check as well because this recall is due to glass fragments.  Yeah...you don't want to chomp down on that.

What Caused This Massive Frozen Food Recall?

After multiple consumer complaints were received by the company about glass found in the food, the issue was discovered.  Thankfully, no injuries have been confirmed at the time of this update being written.

An investigation determined that the most probable cause of the source was a vegetable ingredient used in the product may have been contaminated with the glass fragments.

What To Do If You Have These Recalled Frozen Foods

If you purchased any of the items on the recalled list, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service advises you to do the following:

  • do not eat the product
  • throw them away
  • or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund
  • if you are concerned about a possible injury, contact a healthcare provider

If you have questions about the recall can contact Ajinomoto Foods North America Consumer Affairs at (855) 742-5011.
